Since early 2004, I-TECH has been working in close collaboration with the Ministère de la Santé Publique et de la Population (MSPP) and partners to increase clinical skills and strengthen technical capacity to respond to the devastating HIV/AIDS epidemic. Recent UNAIDS and MSPP surveys estimate that 2.2% of Haitian adults are living with HIV. In 2007, UNAIDS estimated that 41% of people living with HIV were receiving treatment. I-TECH\'s programs in Haiti are focused on improving HIV/AIDS treatment and care through expansion of services in medical sites and improved training for health care workers. Recently, the focus has been in health in general to be able to address health system strengthening .
Additionally, I-TECH is developing and supporting a national electronic medical record system known as iSanté and a laboratory information system (LIS) to promote quality HIV care and case surveillance through readily accessible patient data.
