Community Health Education, Sanitation in rural areas, Trauma Counselling, strengthening existing health facilities in rural areas of intervention.
Active in 35 villages in Rural areas of the Departments of the Northeast, North, Center and in the Port au Prince area. We direct our efforts to the grassroots movement, and partner with the local clinics that are near the villages we work with in Development. So, the clinics we registered are those we are in close contact with, sometimes we provide medicines, sometimes HIV tests, training of staff, etc. We do not support the national staff of those clinics with funding. We help the clinics or hospitals we work with in building capacity and helping them connect with the community in an effective way. We also secure meds distribution to a mobile clinic in Petionville (Golf club).
We promote sustainable development through community volunteers that learn about health in a holistic approach, teach it to their neighbours and become available to the local clinics to act as health promoters with no pay. We encourage these relationships and facilitate their work, providing teaching materials and equipment when necessary.
A missionary doctor will be entering Haiti in September to help Medical Ambassadors Haiti (AMbassadeurs Medicaux d´Haiti, or AMDH) for 6 months. The doctor will be operating in various places. |
